School Outreach

During the North Catholic Open Houses in the fall and spring, many North students will set up tables for their extracurriculars. Team 5740 demonstrated their robot, handed out merchandise, and answered any questions that the prospecting students had about the robotics team. 

When the 8th graders form other diocesan schools came to tour North Catholic, the robotics team steeped up to show the 8th graders what being on the acclaimed North Catholic robotics team. They started with showing them around the warehouse that holds their award-winning robots and the equipment used for them. They ended with a demonstration of the robot from their previous season. 

Since 2017, 5740 has brought robots to Troy Hill, an area in Pittsburgh that experiences need during the Christmas Season. Each December, our school treats over 90 families and 300 children from Troy Hill and surrounding communities with food, fun, and gifts.

We bring our FTC robot and part of the field so the kids can drive the robot. Recently, we have themed the FTC games with a Christmas feel with mini games for them to play. We also ran a button station for the kids to make buttons to take home!
