Political Advocacy

Founded by Team 5740, the Pennsylvania Advocacy Conference of Technology advocates to legislatures for increased STEM education funding and the promotion of after-school STEM programs within our state, we want to accomplish this through the passing of a budget designation grant for after school robotics teams. This grant would span all robotics programs, not just FIRST. As well as it would not be limited to public school systems, but also given to community-based teams and private teams that are 501C3 nonprofits. The National Advocacy Conference held in Washington, D.C through Student Association for STEM Advocacy. We advocated for the expansion of STEM opportunities at the local, state, and national level alongside other FIRST teams and helped to raise the ESSA Title IV Part A bill funding by $75 million.
